I started photography at the age of 14 when I got hold of a second-hand Pentax Spotmatic F, jobbed in various photographic stores throughout my student time, but continued on the academic track and became later a Geohydrology Professor at the University of Tuebingen (Germany). I enjoyed travelling the world as a passionate visual observer. Many years my specific interests were old industrial sites - used an 8"x10" large format camera to document their demolition on Ektachrome color slides (see portfolio). Some 10y ago I experimented with iPhone photography when the © HIPSTA software came out (see portfolio). During the past 2-3 years I focused on Street Portraits (see portfolio) captured in various parts of the world and initiated ArtsPhotographers.com, which is a non-profit organization to promote Fine-Art Travel Photography. Presently I develop an additional line with Studio Portraits using a compact worldwide shippable studio.
